Medical update

Today I had again a video call with my doctor, and I'm feeling a mix of emotions - hope, anticipation, and a touch of relief.

It's been an ongoing battle to reclaim my health from conditions like Lyme, Bartonella, and other challenges that have tested my immune system. But every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory in itself.

Discussing my test results today was much needed. It's been a while since my last update in November, and I'm pleased to share that there have been some encouraging developments. My immune system appears to be slowly but steadily returning to a higher level, but it's still too weak at this point, so caution and vigilance remain important.

Another positive aspect was the normalization of my kidney and thyroid functions. It's progress in the right direction, but we're not there yet. We need to remain extra cautious and vigilant for potential issues with the gallbladder in the coming period. It's a reminder that my health requires constant care and attention.

During our discussion today, my doctor also stated the importance of continued caution, especially regarding contact with sick individuals. My bloodwork indicates deviations suggestive of viral infections, posing an additional challenge to my recovery. It underscores the importance of preventive measures and safeguarding my fragile immune system.

Regarding my medication regimen, there have been several changes once again. Some medications have been increased, while others have been replaced with alternatives. A new addition that I warmly welcome is assistance with pain management. It's reassuring to know that there are ways to alleviate my pain during this challenging period.

However, it's crucial to highlight that medical costs continue to be substantial. Each blood draw can easily amount to a thousand euros, and my monthly medication expenses are also around that figure. Therefore, I'd like to reiterate the importance of my crowdfunding initiative on May 18th, where I'm seeking to raise funds to help cover these expenses. Donations are always appreciated! Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to contribute.

Next month, we have another round of tests scheduled. In addition to checking for Bartonella and Tularemia, we'll also be testing for Babesia. This is something I've suspected for years due to my symptoms, but it's never been definitively confirmed. Hopefully, this test will provide more clarity regarding my condition and the best course of treatment.

I feel a mix of emotions, but above all, I feel determined. Every step forward brings me closer to remission, and I'm grateful for the support of my medical team and loved ones on this journey. Together, we'll continue to fight, one day at a time.
